Mind Blowing Procrastination

I'm cranked on two pots of coffee and two appellate briefs; brainbreak needed in way of blogggggggggg....

Body and soul are not two different things, but only two different ways of perceiving the same thing. Simarly, physics and psychology are only two different attempts to link our experiences together by way of systematic thought. - Al Einstein

I just finished devouring (and obsessing- OCD here) Carl Jung's everything. After going through a past life regression with a hypnotherapist, I was semi-desperate to prove to myself that my subconscious was trying to tell me something through symbols and archetypes. (and disprove the "eternal" portion of spirit and the "validity" of past life) Well, that little hypothesis failed (another succeeded in some way that I cannot yet describe in words), but somehow led me to energy theories and then to quantum physics (don't worry, there's no math in this blog, promise).

I read The Dancing Wu Li Masters ages ago (by ages, I believe about a decade ago) which is a physicist's take on the "awareness" of all molecules (not cells, but molecules, atoms, electrons, protons) and the meaning behind that awareness (chi, ka, thymos, prana). That physicist was Gary Zukav, who I immediately discounted because he became some Oprah monologue guru and started writing self-help (which I totally detest). He flaked on me, or at least I thought he did.

And now I've got this insane book in my hands, written in a somewhat scholarly manner, well researched, with copious amounts of footnotes and references to learned treatises... That's an epistle to the cynic, that points to all matter not equalling energy but being pure energy, not just things we perceive as non-living, but plants, animals, consciousness. That living things emit light (whaaa- my science professors never, ever told me that photons emanate from living things-holy shit) that living things are as connected to the energies of the "mass" (except there's no such thing as acutal mass) that surround them and respond to that in kind... that electrons may be "willed", yes WILLED by physicists to take on certain behaviours- to conform to our perceptions. That a million other wild things...

Okay- so this book may be boring boring boring to some people, and a tough read to some, but it's complicated and BEAUTIFUL. I needs some peeps to read it so we can talk about this (please do...)

A human being is part of a whole, called by us "Universe," a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separate from the rest -- a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. The striving to free oneself from this delusion is the one issue of true religion. Not to nourish it, but to try to overcome it, is the way to reach the attainable measure of peace of mind. -- Al Einstein

Whoa.

  2. Hi Brandy, it's Shannon's Dawn in Knoxville and I want to read that book! I'll have to buy it, because I'm one of those people who can't borrow and then release...I have to OWN the darned thing. And this sounds fascinating, right up my alley and makes complete sense to my mind. I have read studies, and witnessed microscopic slides of water molecules that have been subjected to loving, positive thoughts, and others to negative, hateful thoughts - not kidding, it changes the molecular structure. If that is possible w/ water, why not w/ our own bodies at a cellular level??? Yogis and energy masters can manipulate the etheric body w/ energy, so the premise of this book just expounds on that concept a bit further. I want to buy it and read it, and then discuss! Looking forward to meeting you in the near future also.
